💎 How to Visit Thailand’s Hidden Gem! Be sure to SAVE this for your Northern Thailand trip as this is a Must-see off-the-beaten-path temple that is 100% worth the detour! 📍 Tips for Visiting the Floating Pagodas in Lampang - Wat Chaloem Phra Kia 👉🏻The closest city for the pagodas is 1 hour and 45 minutes from Chiang Mai and a city called Lampang - but try and stay as close as possible to the pagodas. We booked a little guest house off Google for £13 a night. 👉🏻The Floating Pagodas opens at 7.30 am. We thought we would arrive early to get up there as early as possible but they did not open the ticket office until 7.30 am on the dot so don’t bother trying to arrive an hour earlier like we did unless you visit during the weekend when it’s 7am 👉🏻The cost is 490 Bhat each which is £10 ish - this includes the first part of your adventure...THE TRUCK RIDE that takes you most of the way up the mountain 👉🏻We flew the drone from the drop off point and kept it at a fair distance from the pagodas themselves to be safe. There were no signs prohibiting drone use at this drop-off point. But once you get up to the temple you will see signs asking you not to fly your drone from there. (Also, be sure to get your drone license and permit for Thailand to save getting into trouble) Honestly? It’s one of the most incredible and breathtaking things we have seen so far on our travels! And aside from us, only three other tourists were visiting which of course increases your experience by a million percent because you feel like you are the only people there!
