Start your day with a visit to the ancient Yuelu Academy, one of China's four ancient academies. Take a walk around the campus and admire the traditional Chinese architecture. Head to Orange Isle, a beautiful park in the middle of the Xiangjiang River, for a scenic walk and a cup of tea.
Afternoon
Visit the Mawangdui Han Tombs, which date back to the Western Han Dynasty. The tombs were discovered in the 1970s, and are famous for their well-preserved artifacts, including silk paintings and lacquerware. Afterwards, head to Tianxin Pavilion, a historic tower that offers great views of the city.

Spend the morning exploring Mount Yuelu, a scenic mountain located just outside the city. Take a cable car to the top for panoramic views, and visit the Lushan Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in China.

After lunch, visit the Hunan Provincial Museum to learn about the history and culture of the Hunan region. The museum has a large collection of artifacts, including bronze, pottery, and jade.
