Start your day with a visit to the Canyon Rim Visitor Center, which is the main visitor center for the park. Here, you can learn about the history and geology of the gorge and get tips for hiking and other activities. Be sure to pick up a park map and Junior Ranger booklet for the kids.

Take a guided tour of the New River Gorge Bridge, which is one of the park's main attractions. The tour takes you to the top of the bridge, where you can take in stunning views of the gorge below. After the tour, head to the nearby Canyon Rim Trail for a short hike and picnic lunch.

End your day with a trip to the nearby Summersville Lake, where you can go swimming, fishing, kayaking, or paddleboarding. There are also several picnic areas and hiking trails around the lake.
