Head to the nearby Spit Bay to visit the abandoned Australian station, which was established in 1947. Take a tour of the station to learn about the history and day-to-day life of the researchers who lived there.

Spend some time exploring the rocky coastline and tidal pools. You may be able to spot fur seals and sea lions basking in the sun.

Enjoy a quiet evening at the station, where you can take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers.

Take a hike up Big Ben, the highest mountain in the Australian Antarctic Territory. The hike is challenging, but the views from the top are well worth it.

Go on a whale watching tour to see the humpback and killer whales that migrate through the surrounding waters. You may also see Antarctic fur seals and leopard seals.

Relax and warm up at the station, where you can enjoy a hot meal and spend some time socializing with the other visitors.

Take a helicopter tour of the islands to see the stunning glaciers and ice formations from above. You may also be able to spot some of the wildlife from the air.

Go on a fishing excursion to catch some of the local fish, such as the mackerel icefish or the Patagonian toothfish. You can then enjoy a fresh seafood dinner at the station.

Spend some time stargazing and taking in the breathtaking views of the night sky.

Visit the McDonald Islands, a group of small uninhabited islands to the west of Heard Island. The islands are home to a large colony of Adelie penguins and are surrounded by stunning ice formations.

Go on a zodiac tour of the islands to get up close and personal with the penguins and other wildlife. You may also be able to see some of the ice formations from a different perspective.

Enjoy a farewell dinner at the station, where you can reflect on your incredible journey to this remote and beautiful location.
