🎥Why we are quitting YouTube before we even began...... Okay so we haven’t 100% QUIT... but it’s kind of on hold. And honestly, we are not happy with the decision but we feel it’s the right thing for us right now. Blogging is a HUGE task in itself. Photography is a HUGE task in itself and YouTube is another HUGE task. As we travel, I’m taking photographs for the blog - and Steffan usually has a small window of time during the right light to find a good spot, get ready set up, and get photos. Filming at the same time as taking photographs is nothing short of a nightmare! - and the few times we’ve tried to do both we’ve ended up with no photos at all. As a photographer and trying to build a photography blog this poses a huge issue! And honestly, Guys, when we have done both - we really have found the whole situation super stressful and have not enjoyed it at all. If Steffan wasn’t a photographer we could do it. And If I wasn’t in charge of the photos for the blog then I could do it. We’ve been back and forth over it but the fact is, I don’t want to be filming all of the time when I’m trying to take photos for future blogs. And Steffan just can’t do both. Then there’s the editing …. 🫠🫠😫 Steff already has the editing of his photos which takes hours (Can I get an AMEN from photographers??) 😂 And I’m no video editor 🤷‍♀️A 2-minute reel on Inshot, I’m your Gal but a 10-minute video production.... nat my thing. So, we’re disappointed. We love YouTube but we can’t do it all. Our current plan is to attempt to still film SOME things - maybe we do photos one day and video another... but let’s see how it goes. But we reckon there will be no more YouTube videos going live until later this year. For now, it’s all about Landscape hunting + Photography + Blog! (and trying desperately not to burn out!!) We really feel that focusing on too many things at once is not going to result in any measurable success for us. Treating yourself on vacation is a must - @fsbangkok was the perfect place to do just that!
