The Columbia River Gorge is the first scenic highway in America that has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. It is also known as the Waterfall Highway due to the countless waterfalls that are found along the drive. Supposedly there are anywhere from 77-90 different waterfalls (Google can’t decide), but here are 3 incredible waterfalls that can be reached with a short hike under one mile! •Multnomah Falls: These are the most impressive and the most popular falls along the Highway. The base of the waterfall is only a short walk from the parking lot and has the best view. Visitors can climb up to the bridge or even take a 2-mile strenuous trail to the top. Just keep in mind that timed reservations are required during the summer months. •Latourell Falls: The best place to view the waterfall is from a short 0.2 mile trail to the base. You can also take a longer loop trail to the top of the falls, but the best view is from the bottom. •Bridal Veil Falls: This 0.6 mile out and back trail leads to a beautiful 2-tiered waterfall. You can also take an additional loop trail to a scenic overlook of the Columbia River Gorge. #columbiarivergorge #oregonwaterfalls #oregonhikes #oregonexplored #visitoregon #oregonisbeautiful #waterfallhunting
