Trolltunga and the valley below were carved out by an icecap that covered most of Scandinavia during a series of ice ages. It is one of the most challenging hikes in Norway but those who embark on this hike is rewarded with awe-inspiring views like no other! 😍🏔🙌🏼 What's the most challenging hike you've experienced? 🥾 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐋 𝐓𝐈𝐏𝐒: ✦ The total distance of Trolltunga hike is 28km (~17miles) with 800 meters (2,600 feet) of elevation gain. ✦ Devote a day for this hike as it takes 10-12h to complete this strenuous hike including photo stops and break. So start early morning! ✦ It is recommended to go on a guided hike while experts can go alone. We are by no means expert hikers but could easily hike on our own. ✦ The hiking season lasts from June 1 to Aug 31. In winter season, only go with a guide. ✦ Wear hiking boots and carry hiking poles as there are several steep mountain & rocky climbs. ✦ Dress in layers as even in Summer you will find snow up in the mountains and temperature can be freezing cold. During my hike, it was windy with 4°C ✦ Highly recommend to do advance booking of parking lot at P3 at Mågelitopp to save you 7km of hike.
