Not everyone is made of time and money! 48 hours is short, but a fine amount of time to get a feel for this Mediterranean gem. Here’s how you can see the best Cyprus has to offer with just 2 days on the island nation: First…SAVE this for European trip-planning later! Day 1 - Arrive at Paphos or Larnaca airport; rent a car or get a driver. - Drive 40 minutes to Pissouri Beach - Cyprus’ pristine Blue Flag beach. - Head toward Limassol, stopping on the way to explore the Ancient Kourion ruins. - Overnight at a hotel in Limassol. Day 2 - Drive 50 minutes from Limassol to Pano Lefkara, the charming mountain village and my favorite spot in Cyprus. Get breakfast or lunch at one of the cute restaurants (I highly recommend Coffee Yard Cafe!) and see the local women crafting the delicate lace the town is known for. - Spend the rest of the day exploring the southeastern peninsula: see the Sea Caves at Cape Cavo Greco, the Blue Holes, and Konnos Beach. - Dinner at Sage restaurant for a fancy meal, Agrotikon for home-made moussaka and a glass of the local commandaria wine - Overnight at a hotel in Larnaca. - If you have time, check out the flamingoes before your flight out the next morning at Larnaca Salt Lake. Bonus: If you’re a fast mover and don’t mind driving a little more, you can also visit Nicosia, the world’s last divided capital city. One half is occupied by Turkey, while the other is Cypriot. Bring your passport to go between the two sides at Lokmaci Crossing, and head to the top of the Shackles Tower and Museum to see the best view of the full city nestled into the mountains.
