2-Day Beppu Adventure Itinerary

Start your day with a visit to the Beppu Jigoku Onsen Museum, Umi Jigoku, Oniishi Bozu Jigoku. This museum offers a fascinating insight into the unique hot spring culture of Beppu. You can explore various 'hells' or jigoku, which are hot springs that are too hot for bathing but offer spectacular views. The Umi Jigoku is particularly stunning with its cobalt blue water.

For lunch, head to 地獄蒸し工房 鉄輪, where you can enjoy meals cooked using the natural steam from the hot springs. After lunch, take a walking tour titled Become a local! A Walking Tour of Beppu’s Arts, Crafts&Onsen. This tour will immerse you in the local culture as you explore arts and crafts unique to Beppu and visit some lesser-known onsen (hot springs).
