On your second day, take a trip out to the El Tatio Geysers, one of the largest geyser fields in the world. Witness the steam and boiling water spouting from the earth's crust in an otherworldly landscape that's sure to leave a lasting impression. Be sure to take warm clothing as it can be very cold in the early morning.

After the geysers, stop off at the nearby Machuca village, a traditional Andean community with rustic adobe houses. Learn about the indigenous culture and try some of the local delicacies, such as llama meat or empanadas.

Back in San Pedro de Atacama, head to the Pueblo de Tierra restaurant for some delicious fusion cuisine. They offer a variety of dishes, from traditional Chilean to international, all made with fresh local ingredients.

Take a trip to the Salar de Atacama, the largest salt flat in Chile, and explore the unique landscapes of this natural wonder. Visit the Chaxa Lagoon, a national reserve with a variety of bird species, including the famous Chilean flamingos.

After the salt flats, visit the ancient ruins of the Tulor Village, an archaeological site that dates back over 3000 years. Take a guided tour to learn about the history and culture of the Atacama people who once lived here.

End your day with some stargazing at one of the local observatories. The Atacama Desert is one of the best places in the world for stargazing, with clear skies and minimal light pollution. Check out the Space Obs or the ALMA observatory for an unforgettable experience.
