Start your day by exploring the old city of Tashkent, also known as Eski Shahar. Visit the Khast-Imam Square, which houses the Barak-Khan Madrassa, the Kaffal-Shashi Mausoleum, and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Next, head to the Chorsu Bazaar, the oldest market in Tashkent, to experience the vibrant colors, smells, and sounds of Uzbekistan's traditional bazaars.
Afternoon
After lunch, take a stroll through Amir Temur Square, the largest public square in Uzbekistan, and stop by the Museum of Applied Arts to see beautiful examples of Uzbek handicrafts and traditional costumes. End the day with a visit to the Tashkent TV Tower, one of the tallest towers in the world, for a panoramic view of the city.

Take a day trip to the ancient city of Samarkand, which is located two hours away from Tashkent by train. Visit the Registan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes three madrasas (Islamic schools) with stunning tilework and intricate mosaics. Next, head to the Bibi Khanym Mosque and the Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis, both of which are masterpieces of Timurid architecture.

After lunch, visit the Ulugh Beg Observatory, which was built in the 15th century and was one of the most advanced observatories of its time. End the day with a visit to the Afrosiyob Museum, which houses artifacts from the ancient city of Samarkand.
