During this tour, you'll hike along the reserve's sandy trails, surrounded by spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, and learn about the reserve's elephant seal population from the knowledgeable guides.

Afternoon

After the tour, make your way to the visitor center, where you can explore the exhibits and learn about the history and ecology of the reserve. Then, pack a picnic lunch and head to the beach to enjoy the stunning views and maybe even spot some whales or dolphins.

Evening

For dinner, drive to nearby Pescadero and head to Duarte's Tavern, a local landmark that's been serving delicious seafood and homemade pies since 1894.

Today, take a different tour offered at the reserve - the Naturalist Tour, which is led by a naturalist who will take you to see the reserve's other wildlife, including birds, plants, and other marine mammals.

After a day at the beach, head to the nearby town of Santa Cruz and visit the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, a classic seaside amusement park with rides, games, and attractions for all ages.

After the hike, head to nearby Año Nuevo Beach for some surfing or kayaking. If you're not feeling adventurous, you can also just relax on the beach and soak up the sun.

For dinner, head to the nearby town of Half Moon Bay and try the fresh seafood at Sam's Chowder House, which offers stunning ocean views and a cozy atmosphere.

On your last day, take one last walk along the reserve's trails and say goodbye to the elephant seals.
