Morning
Start your morning by driving to Founders Grove, located just a few miles north of the Avenue of the Giants. This grove is home to some of the largest and oldest trees in the area, including the Founders Tree, which is over 350 feet tall and over 1,200 years old. Take a leisurely walk through the grove, admiring the majestic redwoods and learning about their history and ecology from the interpretive signs along the trail.
Afternoon
After leaving Founders Grove, continue driving down the Avenue of the Giants. This scenic drive takes you through some of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring redwood forests in the world. Along the way, stop at several of the roadside attractions, including the Immortal Tree, a 950-year-old redwood that was struck by lightning and still stands today. You can also visit the Shrine Drive-Thru Tree, a 275-foot tall redwood that has been carved into a tunnel that you can drive your car through.
Evening
As the sun begins to set, make your way to the Humboldt Redwoods State Park Visitor Center. This center has exhibits and displays about the redwoods, as well as a gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs to remember your trip. If you're hungry, head to the nearby town of Garberville, where you'll find a variety of dining options, including the Eel River Cafe, which serves up delicious burgers and sandwiches.

Morning
Begin your day by driving to the southern end of the Avenue of the Giants and visiting the Rockefeller Forest. This forest is home to some of the largest trees in the area, including the Stratosphere Giant, which is over 370 feet tall and over 2,000 years old. Take a hike on one of the trails through the forest, enjoying the peace and serenity of the redwoods.
Afternoon
After leaving the Rockefeller Forest, head to the nearby town of Weott. Here, you can visit the Humboldt Redwoods Interpretive Association, which has exhibits and displays about the redwoods and the local wildlife. You can also take a stroll along the nearby Eel River, which offers great swimming and fishing opportunities.
Evening
As the day comes to a close, make your way to the nearby town of Scotia, where you can visit the historic Scotia Inn. This inn was built in the early 1900s to house the workers at the nearby lumber mill, and it still retains much of its original charm and character. Enjoy a delicious meal at the inn's restaurant, which specializes in locally sourced ingredients and classic American cuisine.
