Spiritual Beginnings in Yamunotri

Morning

Begin your Char Dham Yatra with a drive from Haridwar to Yamunotri. The journey is scenic and takes approximately 6-7 hours. Upon arrival, start the trek to Yamunotri Temple, which is about 6 km from Janki Chatti. The trek offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Yamunotri Temple is one of the four sacred shrines of Char Dham and is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna.

Afternoon

After offering prayers at the temple, visit the Surya Kund, a hot water spring near the temple where devotees cook rice as a prasad (offering). The cooked rice is taken back home as a blessed food item. Then head towards Divya Shila, a rock pillar that is worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple. This place holds great religious significance.

Evening

Return to Janki Chatti and relax at your accommodation. Enjoy a traditional dinner at Hotel Kalindi which offers local cuisine and a comfortable stay for pilgrims.

Divine Journey to Gangotri

Morning

Start early in the morning for your drive to Gangotri, which takes around 4-5 hours from Yamunotri. On arrival, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganga at Gangotri Ghat before visiting Gangotri Temple. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and holds immense spiritual importance.

Afternoon

Post darshan (worship), explore nearby attractions like Bhagirath Shila and Pandava Gufa. Bhagirath Shila is believed to be the place where King Bhagirath meditated to bring River Ganga down to earth. Pandava Gufa is an ancient cave where it is believed that Pandavas from Mahabharata meditated during their exile.

Evening

Sacred Sojourn in Kedarnath

Morning

Embark on an early morning drive from Gangotri to Guptkashi, which takes about 6-7 hours. From Guptkashi, proceed towards Kedarnath by helicopter or by trekking (16 km). Upon reaching Kedarnath, visit Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.

Morning
