Start your day by heading to Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the most picturesque national parks in the country. Take a scenic drive along Trail Ridge Road, which offers breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains and is the highest continuous paved road in the United States.
Afternoon
After your drive, take a hike on one of the many trails that the park has to offer. Stop by the Alpine Visitor Center for some information on the trails and for a bite to eat.

Take a trip to Mesa Verde National Park, where you can explore the ancient ruins of the Ancestral Pueblo people. Take a guided tour of the Cliff Palace, which is one of the largest and most well-preserved cliff dwellings in North America.
Afternoon
After your tour, head to the park's visitor center to learn more about the history of the Ancestral Pueblo people and to explore the park's museum.

Visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, where you can explore the tallest sand dunes in North America. Rent a sandboard or sled and take a ride down the dunes, or take a hike along one of the park's many trails.

After your adventures on the sand dunes, head to Zapata Falls for a refreshing dip in the water.

Visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve again, this time for some stargazing. The park is one of the best places in the country to view the night sky, as it has some of the lowest light pollution levels in the country.

After your stargazing adventure, head to the San Luis Valley for some hot springs soaking. The valley has several hot springs to choose from, including Joyful Journey Hot Springs and Valley View Hot Springs.
