Start your day at the St. Louis Science Center, located just across the river in St. Louis. The museum features hands-on exhibits, a planetarium, and an IMAX theater. After the Science Center, head to the Missouri Botanical Garden, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the United States. Explore the 79-acre garden and its many exhibits, including a Japanese garden and a tropical rainforest.

After lunch at the garden's cafe, visit the St. Louis Art Museum, which has an extensive collection of art from around the world, including works by Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Jackson Pollock. In the afternoon, head to the City Museum, a one-of-a-kind museum that is part playground, part art installation. Explore the 10-story slide, the giant ball pit, and the many other interactive exhibits.

For dinner, head to Pappy's Smokehouse, a St. Louis institution known for its award-winning barbecue. Try the ribs, pulled pork, or brisket, and don't forget the sides like baked beans and sweet potato fries.

Start your day with a visit to the Malcolm W. Martin Memorial Park, located across the river in East St. Louis. The park features a 150-foot-tall observation tower that offers incredible views of the St. Louis skyline. After the park, head to the St. Louis Zoo, one of the best zoos in the country. Start your day at the Gateway Motorsports Park, a NASCAR and IndyCar racing track located just across the river in Madison, Illinois. Take a tour of the track and see the cars up close. After the track, head to the St. Louis Children's Museum, a hands-on museum for kids of all ages.

After lunch at the museum's cafe, head to the Magic House, a children's museum that features exhibits on science, art, and technology. In the afternoon, visit the Kirkwood Farmers' Market, which has been selling local produce for more than 40 years.

For dinner, head to the Blues City Deli, a sandwich shop that has been featured on the Food Network. Try the roast beef and the muffuletta for a taste of New Orleans in St. Louis.
