Start your day in Hill City with breakfast at the Hill City Cafe where you can enjoy a classic American breakfast, including pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. After breakfast, take a stroll down Main Street and explore the many shops and galleries that line the street. Be sure to visit the Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries, which features Native American art, jewelry, and crafts.
Afternoon
In the afternoon, head to Mount Rushmore National Memorial, just 20 minutes from Hill City. Take a self-guided tour of the memorial and learn about the history of the presidents carved into the mountain. After visiting Mount Rushmore, drive a short distance to Crazy Horse Memorial, a massive sculpture in progress that honors the Native American warrior. Take a tour of the sculpture and visit the onsite museum to learn about the history and culture of Native Americans.
Morning
Start your day with a visit to the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research, where you can learn about the geology and paleontology of the Black Hills region. The institute features a museum with displays of fossils and minerals, as well as a working laboratory where you can watch scientists at work. After visiting the institute, take a scenic drive through Custer State Park, where you can see bison, pronghorns, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
Afternoon
After lunch, head to the Jewel Cave National Monument, where you can take a guided tour of the third-longest cave system in the world. The tour takes you through narrow passageways, past stunning rock formations, and into underground chambers. After the tour, explore the hiking trails and the visitor center.

Start your day with a scenic drive through the Black Hills National Forest, where you can see stunning vistas and wildlife. Stop at the Pactola Reservoir for a picnic lunch and enjoy the views of the water and the surrounding hills.
Afternoon
After lunch, head to the Mickelson Trail, a 109-mile long trail that winds through the Black Hills. Rent a bike and ride a portion of the trail, which offers stunning views of the forest and the hills. If you prefer hiking, there are also many hiking trails in the area.

Start your day with a visit to the Black Hills National Cemetery, where you can pay your respects to the many military veterans buried there. After visiting the cemetery, head to the Black Hills Maze, a fun attraction that features a maze, a mini-golf course, and other activities.
Afternoon
After lunch, head to the Rushmore Tramway Adventures, where you can ride a chairlift to the top of the mountain and enjoy stunning views of the Black Hills. There are also other attractions at the site, including a zipline, an alpine slide, and a ropes course.

Start your day with a visit to the South Dakota State Railroad Museum, where you can learn about the history of railroads in South Dakota. The museum features exhibits of historic locomotives, cars, and other railroad artifacts.
Afternoon
After lunch, head to the Wonderland Cave, a small cave system that features beautiful rock formations. Take a guided tour of the cave and learn about its history and geology.
