Start your day by visiting the Jaisalmer Fort, the crown jewel of the city, and one of the largest forts in the world. The fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is made entirely of yellow sandstone. Visit the Jain Temples inside the fort, known for their intricate carvings and stunning architecture.
Afternoon
After exploring the fort, head to Patwon Ki Haveli, a cluster of five havelis (mansions) built in the 19th century by a wealthy Jain merchant family. The havelis are known for their beautiful architecture and intricate carvings. Take a break and enjoy a traditional Rajasthani thali (platter) at one of the nearby restaurants.
Morning
Start your second day by visiting Gadisar Lake, a man-made lake which was once the sole source of water for the city. Take a boat ride on the lake and visit the many small temples and shrines that surround it.
Afternoon
After lunch, head to Kuldhara, an abandoned village about 18 km from Jaisalmer. The village was abandoned in the 19th century under mysterious circumstances, and it is said that the villagers put a curse on the village as they left. The village has an eerie atmosphere and is a fascinating place to explore.
