Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your lodge or hotel before heading to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate, located in the village of Marangu. Here you will register and meet your guide and porters who will accompany you on your climb.

Begin your climb through the rainforest, where you may spot colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and a variety of bird species. Your destination for the day is the Mandara Hut, located at 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) above sea level.

After breakfast, continue your climb through the rainforest and into the heather and moorland zone. Along the way, you will pass the Maundi Crater and enjoy stunning views of the Kenyan plains. Your destination for the day is the Horombo Hut, located at 3,720 meters (12,201 feet) above sea level.

After lunch at the hut, take a short acclimatization hike to Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi Ridge.

Today is a rest day to allow your body to acclimate to the altitude. You can spend the day relaxing at the hut or taking a short hike to explore the surrounding area.

After breakfast, continue your climb into the alpine desert zone. You will pass the last water point and climb up to the Saddle, a high-altitude desert between the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. Your destination for the day is the Kibo Hut, located at 4,703 meters (15,430 feet) above sea level.

After lunch at the hut, rest up for the night-time summit attempt.

Wake up around midnight for a hot drink and a light snack before beginning the final ascent to the summit. The climb to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), is challenging but rewarding. You will climb through scree and rock before reaching the crater rim. From there, it's a steep climb to the summit.

After reaching the summit, take a few photos and enjoy the stunning views before beginning the descent.
