Start your day with an early morning drive to the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. Stop at the visitor center to get oriented and pick up maps and guides for hiking trails in the area. The Island in the Sky is a mesa that towers above the surrounding terrain, offering panoramic views of the canyons, rivers, and buttes below. Begin with the Mesa Arch Trail, a short and easy hike that takes you to an iconic natural arch.

After lunch, head out to the Grand View Point Overlook Trail, where you can hike along the rim and take in stunning views of the canyons and the Colorado River. The trail is about 2 miles round trip, and takes about 1-2 hours to complete.

Finish the day by watching the sunset at the Green River Overlook, where you can see the sun set over the vast canyonlands.
