Start your day by watching the sunrise at Mount Batur, an active volcano in the central highlands of Bali. The trek to the summit takes about two hours, but the views of the surrounding landscape are well worth it.

After coming back down from the volcano, head to Tirta Empul, a Hindu water temple in the village of Tampaksiring. The temple's holy spring is believed to have healing powers, and visitors can participate in a purifying ritual by bathing in the waters.

End your day by watching the famous Kecak Fire Dance at the Uluwatu Temple. This traditional Balinese dance is performed by a group of men chanting "cak" while enacting a story from the Hindu epic, Ramayana.
