Start early and hit the ECR (East Coast Road), which is a beautiful coastal road that will take you through scenic routes and small fishing villages. Have breakfast at one of the many roadside eateries and enjoy the fresh seafood. Make a quick stop at Mahabalipuram to visit the ancient rock-cut temples and monuments.
Afternoon
Continue driving along the ECR and stop at Pichavaram Mangrove Forest, which is one of the world's largest mangrove forests and take a boat ride through the dense mangrove trees. After the boat ride, head towards the town of Chidambaram and visit the famous Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the most ancient and holiest temples in South India.
Evening
Drive to the town of Thanjavur, also known as the Rice Bowl of Tamil Nadu. Visit the Brihadeeswarar Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest and most magnificent temples in India. End the day with a delicious South Indian dinner at one of the many restaurants in Thanjavur.
Morning
Start the day with a visit to the Thanjavur Palace and Art Gallery, which showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region and houses a vast collection of artifacts and paintings. After the visit, head towards the town of Rameswaram, which is known for its beautiful beaches and the Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines in India.
Afternoon
Visit the Pamban Bridge, which is the longest sea bridge in India and offers stunning views of the turquoise blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Continue the drive towards Dhanushkodi, which is a ghost town located at the southernmost tip of India. Spend the afternoon exploring the ruins of the town and the nearby beaches.
