Today, venture out of the city to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Ajanta Caves. These ancient rock-cut caves are home to some of the finest surviving examples of Indian art, with intricate carvings and paintings dating back to the 2nd century BCE.

After a morning of exploring, stop for lunch at the MTDC restaurant near the caves. Enjoy local specialties like thali (a platter of small dishes) or biryani (a rice dish with meat or vegetables).

Return to Pune and spend the evening exploring the city's vibrant nightlife scene. Head to one of the many bars in Koregaon Park, like the funky High Spirits or the upscale Penthouze Nightlife.

Begin the day with a visit to the Shaniwar Wada, the former seat of the Peshwa rulers of the Maratha Empire. This imposing fortress palace is now in ruins, but it still holds an important place in Indian history.

For lunch, head to the nearby Vaishali restaurant for some of the best South Indian food in the city. Don't miss the famous masala dosa or the filter coffee.

Wrap up the day with a visit to the Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, a fascinating collection of art and artifacts from across India. Highlights include a massive collection of musical instruments and a replica of a traditional village market.
