Start your day early in Salzburg and head towards Mirabell Palace and Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a location for the iconic "Do Re Mi" scene from the movie The Sound of Music. After lunch, take a scenic two-hour train ride to Hallstatt, a picturesque village located on the shores of Lake Hallstatt. Once you arrive, take a leisurely stroll along the lake promenade and take in the stunning views of the mountains and crystal-clear waters.

Before heading back to Salzburg, make sure to visit the Hallstatt Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest salt mines in the world. Take a tour of the mine and learn about the history of salt mining in the region.
