Morning
Start your day early and head out from Kozhikode to Guruvayur, one of the most sacred and famous temples in South India. Morning
Start your day by visiting the Punnathur Kotta Elephant Sanctuary, which is located about 3 km from the temple town. This is a unique sanctuary where you can see more than 50 elephants being taken care of by the temple authorities. You can also feed the elephants and take a ride on them. The sanctuary opens at 9 AM and closes at 5 PM.
Afternoon
After visiting the elephant sanctuary, head to the nearby Chavakkad Beach. The beach is located about 5 km from the temple town and is a popular spot for locals and tourists. You can take a walk along the beach, explore the nearby fishing village, and try some fresh seafood at the local restaurants.
Evening
In the evening, visit the Devaswom Museum, which is located inside the temple complex. The museum has a collection of items related to the temple's history and the rituals performed here. You can also visit the nearby Sree Parthasarathy Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Krishna's friend and charioteer, Arjuna. The temple is located about 2 km from the main temple.
