The temple is one of the most revered shrines in India and is dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi. Legend has it that the goddess appeared in the form of a rock and the temple was built around it. After offering your prayers, make your way back down to Katra and indulge in some local street food.

Today, take a break from the trek and explore the beautiful town of Katra. Start your day with a visit to the Nau Devi Temple, which is a short drive away from Katra. The temple complex consists of nine temples dedicated to various goddesses. Afterward, head to the Baba Dhansar Temple, which is situated amidst a picturesque waterfall and is a must-visit for nature lovers.
Afternoon
After a morning filled with temple visits, indulge in some local cuisine at the famous Wazwan restaurant in Katra. Wazwan is a traditional Kashmiri multi-course meal that is a must-try for foodies. After lunch, head to the Banganga Temple, which is located at the start of the trek to the Vaishno Devi Temple. The temple is situated on the banks of the Banganga River and is a serene and peaceful spot.

Today, head to the Patnitop hill station, which is located about 80km from Katra. The scenic drive to Patnitop is a treat in itself, and you will be surrounded by breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Once you reach Patnitop, take a cable car ride up to the Shiva Garh Temple and enjoy panoramic views of the valley.
Afternoon
After the cable car ride, head to the Nathatop snow point, which is a popular spot for adventure enthusiasts. You can indulge in activities like skiing, snowboarding, and paragliding. Afterward, head to the local restaurant and enjoy some hot and delicious Maggi noodles.

Today, take a day trip to the historic city of Jammu, which is located about 50km from Katra. Visit the Raghunath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Rama and is one of the largest temple complexes in northern India. Afterward, head to the Bahu Fort, which is situated on the banks of the Tawi River and offers stunning views of the city.
Afternoon
After exploring the fort, head to the local market and indulge in some shopping for traditional handicrafts and Kashmiri shawls. You can also visit the famous Amar Mahal Museum, which is a beautiful palace-turned-museum and houses a collection of paintings, artifacts, and manuscripts.

On your last day, head to the Ardh Kuwari Temple, which is located halfway between Katra and the Vaishno Devi Temple. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi and is believed to be the spot where the goddess meditated for nine months before finally appearing to her devotees. The trek to the temple is a short one and is accessible to most people.
