Afternoon
After lunch, visit the Sarnath, a small town situated 10 km from Varanasi. It is a significant Buddhist pilgrimage site where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Visit the Dhamek Stupa, an impressive structure built in the 5th century, and the Sarnath Museum, which has an incredible collection of Buddhist artifacts.
Morning
Begin your day by visiting the Allahabad Fort, situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, and built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century. After that, head to the Triveni Sangam, a significant confluence of three rivers- Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. Take a dip in the holy waters and offer prayers at the nearby temples.
Afternoon
After lunch, visit the Anand Bhawan, the ancestral home of the Nehru-Gandhi family and now a museum that showcases the Indian freedom struggle. After that, visit the Allahabad Museum, which has an incredible collection of artifacts from the Maurya and Gupta periods.
Morning
Begin your day by visiting the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in Bodh Gaya. It is one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites, and it is believed that Lord Buddha attained enlightenment here. After that, head to the Bodhi Tree, a fig tree under which Lord Buddha meditated and attained enlightenment.
Afternoon
After lunch, visit the Dungeshwari Cave Temples, also known as the Mahakala Caves, situated 12 km from Bodh Gaya. It is believed that Lord Buddha spent six years meditating in these caves before moving to Bodh Gaya. After that, visit the Thai Monastery, a beautiful temple complex built by the Thai government in a traditional Thai style.
