Morning
Start your day with a visit to the Ascension Cathedral, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. This beautiful Russian Orthodox Cathedral features beautiful architecture and stunning frescoes. Afterward, take a stroll through the Panfilov Park, a popular public park in the heart of the city. The park features a memorial dedicated to the soldiers who fought in World War II, as well as several monuments and statues.
Afternoon
For lunch, head to the Green Bazaar, one of the oldest and largest markets in Almaty. Here, you'll find a wide range of local foods, souvenirs, and handicrafts. Spend the afternoon exploring the market and picking up some unique souvenirs to take back home.
Evening
In the evening, head to Kok-Tobe Hill, which offers stunning views of the city. You can reach the hill by taking the Kok-Tobe cable car, which is the world’s shortest cable car ride. At the top, you can visit the Kok-Tobe Tower, which is the tallest TV tower in Kazakhstan. The tower features several restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious dinner while taking in the stunning views of Almaty.

Morning
On Friday morning, take a trip to the Medeu Skating Rink, which is located in the mountains just outside of Almaty. This skating rink is the highest in the world and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. If you're visiting in the summer, the rink is used for roller skating instead of ice skating.
Afternoon
Afterward, head to the Chimbulak Ski Resort, which is also located in the mountains. This resort offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including skiing, snowboarding, and hiking. You can take a cable car to the top of the mountain, where you'll find stunning views and several restaurants. Spend the afternoon enjoying the beautiful scenery and taking part in some outdoor activities.
Evening
For dinner, head to the Old Town, which is home to several traditional Kazakh restaurants. Here, you can try some local dishes, including beshbarmak (a traditional meat dish) and kumis (fermented horse milk). After dinner, take a stroll through the Old Town and explore the beautiful historic buildings and narrow streets.
