Begin your day by visiting the Brihadeeswarar Temple, one of the finest examples of Dravidian architecture. Built in the 11th century, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Marvel at the intricate carvings on the temple's walls and take in the stunning views of the temple's gopuram (tower) that stands at 216 feet tall.

After a morning spent exploring the temple, head to the Thanjavur Royal Palace and Art Gallery, also known as the Nayak Palace. Built in 1550 CE by the Nayak kings, this palace has beautiful architecture and houses a museum with a collection of rare paintings, sculptures, and antiques.

End your day with a visit to the Thanjavur Maratha Palace, also known as the Thanjavur Palace. Built in the 16th century by the Thanjavur Nayak kingdom, this palace has beautiful frescoes and is home to the Saraswathi Mahal Library, which has a rare collection of ancient manuscripts.
