Start the day off with a visit to the Artis Zoo, one of Amsterdam's top family-friendly attractions. This zoo features a wide variety of animals, including elephants, lions, monkeys, and more. The zoo also has a petting zoo and a playground for kids.
Afternoon
After the zoo, head to the Museumplein for some outdoor fun. The area features a large grassy field, perfect for picnics and playtime. The area is also home to some of Amsterdam's top museums, including the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. While the little one may be too young to fully appreciate the art, the museums have plenty of interactive exhibits to keep everyone entertained.
Morning
Take a stroll through the Vondelpark, Amsterdam's largest park. The park features a playground, a wading pool, and plenty of green space to run around in. After the park, head to the Pancake Bakery for a delicious Dutch pancake breakfast.
Afternoon
Spend the afternoon at Nemo Science Museum, a hands-on museum that offers interactive exhibits on science and technology. The museum has a special section for young children, with plenty of games and activities to keep them entertained.
Morning
Start the day with a visit to the Amsterdamse Bos, a large park on the outskirts of the city. The park features a petting zoo, a playground, and plenty of bike and walking paths. Rent a bike with a child seat or a bike trailer to explore the park.
Afternoon
Head to the Nieuwmarkt area for lunch and some shopping. The area features plenty of restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating, perfect for people-watching with the little one. There are also plenty of boutique shops and markets to browse.
Morning
Take a day trip to the Zaanse Schans, a picturesque village just outside of Amsterdam. The village features traditional Dutch windmills, cheese factories, and wooden shoe makers. Take a tour of the windmills and learn about the traditional crafts that are still practiced in the village.
Afternoon
After the Zaanse Schans, head to the nearby town of Zaandam for some shopping. The town features a large shopping center with plenty of stores and restaurants.
Morning
Spend the morning at the Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam's botanical garden. The garden features a wide variety of plants and flowers, as well as a butterfly house and a playground for kids.
Afternoon
After the garden, head to the nearby Oosterpark for a picnic lunch. The park features a large pond, a playground, and plenty of green space to relax in.
